Enterkine House wedding photographer

Natural, documentary wedding photography at one of Ayrshire's most beautiful venues — captured honestly, as your day actually felt.

Enterkine House is one of my favourite venues in Ayrshire to photograph.

Set within a large countryside estate just outside Ayr, it has everything in one place — the glass pavilion ceremony space gets beautiful natural light, the grounds give you stunning backdrops without going far, and the whole day flows naturally without lots of moving around.

I've photographed around 20 weddings here and it genuinely never gets old.

The getting ready part of the day is where I really start to get a feel for a couple. The nerves, the excitement, the quiet moments before everything kicks off — it's some of my favourite photography of the whole day. Nobody's performing yet. Everything is real

Enterkine House has a stunning ceremony space that works beautifully for both intimate gatherings and full celebrations. I've photographed a lot of ceremonies here and I know exactly where to be — when to hang back, when to move, and when to just stay completely still and let the moment happen.

Confetti at Enterkine is always brilliant. The grounds give you space, the light is usually perfect just after the ceremony, and Ayrshire wedding guests never need much encouragement. These are consistently some of my favourite shots from any Enterkine wedding.

I spend most of the day blending into the background — watching, waiting, and capturing the moments that happen between the moments. The ones nobody planned or posed for but everyone ends up loving. Guest candids are where documentary wedding photography really earns its place.

The dining room at Enterkine is a beautiful space to photograph. Whether it's an intimate dinner or a full wedding breakfast, the atmosphere in that room is something you can't fake — and my job is just to capture it as it unfolds naturally around you.

The Enterkine Grounds — The Best Backdrop in Ayrshire

The grounds at Enterkine are genuinely one of the reasons I love photographing weddings here. Wide open lawns, mature trees, beautiful light at different times of year — it gives couple portraits a natural depth that's hard to find anywhere else in Ayrshire.

I never take couples away from their guests for long. Twenty minutes in those grounds is enough to come back with portraits that feel relaxed, natural, and completely your own.

I photograph around 60 weddings a year across Ayrshire and Scotland — all real weddings, none of them styled shoots. Enterkine is one of the venues I return to most, and after shooting here so many times I know every corner of those grounds. Which spots work in summer. Where the light falls in autumn. Where to go when it's raining.

That experience makes a difference on your wedding day.
